TRY SOMETHING NEW

This past weekend I tried something new. I learned how to play pickleball. Yes, I learned how to play the stereotypical game of retirement communities. And guess what?!?! It was FUN! Plus, you can get a total body workout with it. I am ready to play again!

It’s easy to become accustomed to our normal routine and hobbies. This can lead towards the path of boredom and monotony. You may get to the point where you are just going through the motions or just doing the workout or activity for the simple fact that you have always done it.

But why? Our minds are complex, and we are ever learning. Why should we stop learning new workouts or sports or hobbies? Learning something new gives us a chance to branch out and to change up our pace. We are even given a chance to meet new people and to find something else that we enjoy.

Don’t be afraid to at least try something for the first time. It doesn’t matter if you try it with friends or by yourself, just try it. Who cares what others think, if you want to try it, just do it. You might just find something else that you enjoy adding to the mix of things you are already doing.
