Find Your Happiness

When you do something, are you doing it for yourself or because someone thinks you should do it? Some things are unavoidable to do- such as various job duties or following the law. But when it comes to your own personal well-being, are you doing things because it makes you happy, or to make someone else happy?

While there are things you must do in your job, you are ultimately the one that chooses that profession. Do you want to live your career doing something you truly enjoy doing or something that someone told you to do. You can also choose to go over the speed limit, but will you be happy getting a ticket as a result?

When making decisions based upon your life, they should be your decisions. Sure, it’s normal to confide with a friend to help discuss the pros and cons, but ultimately the decision should be yours- not theirs. If someone tells you that it should be done their way, are they truly looking out for your own personal interest, or just how they think things should be?

Your life is too short to let others control it for you. Just do what you want to do. Excel in the career you want, live where you want to live, spend time with those that you want to spend time with, and just be happy making your own decisions. By doing so, you will find your own happiness that no one can take from you.
